About Hastelloy B-3

Hastelloy B-3 alloy (UNS N10675) exhibits extremely high resistance to pure hydrochloric (HCL), hydrobromic, and sulfuric acids (H2So4). Furthermore, it has greatly improved structural stability compared with previous B-type alloys, leading to fewer concerns during welding, fabrication, and service.

Like other nickel alloys (in the mill annealed condition), it is ductile, can be formed and welded, and resists stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing solutions. Also, it is able to withstand fluoride-bearing media and concentrated sulfuric acid, both of which result in damage to zirconium alloys.

Hastelloy B-3 alloy is available in the form of plates, sheets, strips, billets, bars, wires, pipes, tubes, and coated electrodes. It is used in numerous chemical process industry (CPI) applications, especially in the construction of reaction vessels for pure, reducing acid service.

About Hastelloy C22

Hastelloy C-22 is employed in applications that need excellent resistance to natural corrosion, intergranular corrosion, pitting and crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. It is resistant to oxidizing and reducing conditions and prevents aqueous corrosion. It is used in water treatment plants, chlorination plants, incinerators and other applications. The material of C-22 wire is analyzed to measure its resistance to corrosion. The alloy however with the limited composition provides an enhanced functionality. The electro-galvanized finish rolls made of Hastelloy C-22 are utilized in the steel finish manufacturing. The alloy decreases the defects on rolls that is essential to produce defect free galvanized steel in the automotive industry.

The solid rocket propellant effluents and salt air causes pitting and crevice corrosion attack to the stainless steel. Alloy C-22 is selected over 19 different alloys due to its extensive resistance to corrosion.

About Hastelloy B2

Hastelloy B2 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with significant resistance to reducing environments, such as hydrogen chloride gas and sulfuric, acetic and phosphoric acids. Hastelloy B2 provides resistance to pure sulfuric acid and a number of non-oxidizing acids. The alloy should not be used in oxidizing media or where oxidizing contaminants are available in reducing media. Premature failure may occur if alloy B2 is used where iron or copper is present in a system containing hydrochloric acid. Some of the application of Hastelloy B-2 material are as follows.

- Superior resistance to hydrochloric acid, aluminum chloride catalysts and other strongly reducing chemicals. Excellent high-temperature strength in inert and vacuum atmospheres.

- Hastelloy B2 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy particularly suited for equipment handling reducing chemical environments .

- Applications in the chemical process industry involving sulfuric, phosphoric, hydrochloric and acetic acid. Temperature uses vary from ambient temperature to 1500°F depending on the environments (please call for technical advice).

About Hastelloy S

Hastelloy S alloy (UNS N06635) is a nickel-base, high-temperature alloy with a unique combination of properties. It has excellent thermal stability, low thermal expansion and excellent oxidation resistance to 2000°F (1093°C). In addition, the alloy has good high-temperature and thermal fatigue strength. S alloy retains its strength and ductility after aging at temperatures of 800 to 1600°F (427 to 871°C). S alloy was developed for applications involving severely cyclical heating conditions where components must be capable of retaining their strength, ductility, and metallurgical integrity after long-time exposure. It is used extensively as seal rings in gas turbine engines where its low thermal expansion coefficients is also important.

About Hastelloy G-30

HASTELLOY G-30 alloy (UNS N06030) is a nickel-chromium-iron material highly resistant to “wet process” phosphoric acid (P2O5). P2O5 is one of the most important industrial chemicals, being the primary source of phosphorus for agrichemical fertilizers. G-30 alloy is also moderately resistant to chloride-induced localized attack, which can be a problem beneath deposits in the evaporators used to concentrate P2O5. Furthermore, G-30 alloy is less susceptible to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking than the stainless steels.

As a result of its high chromium content, G-30 alloy is also very resistant to other oxidizing acids, such as nitric, and mixtures containing nitric acid. It possesses moderate resistance to reducing acids, such as hydrochloric and sulfuric, as a result of its appreciable molybdenum and copper contents.

About Hastelloy N

Hastelloy N alloy has good oxidation resistance in air. It shows promise for continuous operations at temperatures up to 1800°F (982°C). Intermittent use at temperatures up to 1900°F (1038°C) may also be possible. No discernible oxidation could be measured for the alloy at temperatures up to 1200°F (649°C).

Metallographic examinations have shown that the elements in alloy N remain in solid solution in the 1100 to 1600°F (593 to 871°C) range. Tensile tests have indicated no tendency toward embrittlement for prolonged periods at 1500°F (816°C). Alloy N has good weldability and can be readily forged. The hot working range is between 1600 and 2150°F (871 to 1177°C). It has been successfully extruded and further processed into high-quality seamless or manufactured as welded and drawn tubing. Solution heat-treatment is recommended after hot or cold working of HASTELLOY N alloy parts. For sheet and plate, this is accomplished by soaking at 2150°F (1177°C) [sections up to 1/4 inch thick] and then cooling rapidly in air, or at 2165°F (1185°C) [sections 1/4 inch and thicker] followed by waterquenching. It has good oxidation resistance to hot fluoride salts in the temperature range of 1300 to 1600°F (704 to 871°C).

About Hastelloy G-35

Hastelloy G-35 alloy (UNS N06035) was developed to resist “fertilizer-grade” phosphoric acid (P2O5), which is used in the production of fertilizers. Furthermore, G-35 alloy is much less susceptible to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking than the stainless steels and nickel-chromium-iron alloys traditionally used in “fertilizer-grade” phosphoric acid.

As a result of its very high chromium content, G-35 alloy is extremely resistant to other oxidizing acids, such as nitric, and mixtures containing nitric acid. It possesses moderate resistance to reducing acids, as a result of its appreciable molybdenum content, and, unlike other nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys, it is very resistant to “caustic de-alloying” in hot sodium hydroxide.

About Hastelloy B-3

Hastelloy B-3 alloy (UNS N10675) exhibits extremely high resistance to pure hydrochloric (HCL), hydrobromic, and sulfuric acids (H2So4). Furthermore, it has greatly improved structural stability compared with previous B-type alloys, leading to fewer concerns during welding, fabrication, and service.

About Hastelloy B-3

Hastelloy B-3 alloy (UNS N10675) exhibits extremely high resistance to pure hydrochloric (HCL), hydrobromic, and sulfuric acids (H2So4). Furthermore, it has greatly improved structural stability compared with previous B-type alloys, leading to fewer concerns during welding, fabrication, and service.

Like other nickel alloys (in the mill annealed condition), it is ductile, can be formed and welded, and resists stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing solutions. Also, it is able to withstand fluoride-bearing media and concentrated sulfuric acid, both of which result in damage to zirconium alloys.

Hastelloy B-3 alloy is available in the form of plates, Shims, Strips and Foils, strips, billets, bars, wires, pipes, tubes, and coated electrodes. It is used in numerous chemical process industry (CPI) applications, especially in the construction of reaction vessels for pure, reducing acid service.

About Hastelloy B2

Hastelloy B2 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with significant resistance to reducing environments, such as hydrogen chloride gas and sulfuric, acetic and phosphoric acids. Hastelloy B2 provides resistance to pure sulfuric acid and a number of non-oxidizing acids. The alloy should not be used in oxidizing media or where oxidizing contaminants are available in reducing media. Premature failure may occur if alloy B2 is used where iron or copper is present in a system containing hydrochloric acid. Some of the application of Hastelloy B-2 material are as follows.

About Hastelloy N

Hastelloy N alloy has good oxidation resistance in air. It shows promise for continuous operations at temperatures up to 1800°F (982°C). Intermittent use at temperatures up to 1900°F (1038°C) may also be possible. No discernible oxidation could be measured for the alloy at temperatures up to 1200°F (649°C).

Metallographic examinations have shown that the elements in alloy N remain in solid solution in the 1100 to 1600°F (593 to 871°C) range. Tensile tests have indicated no tendency toward embrittlement for prolonged periods at 1500°F (816°C). Alloy N has good weldability and can be readily forged. The hot working range is between 1600 and 2150°F (871 to 1177°C). It has been successfully extruded and further processed into high-quality seamless or manufactured as welded and drawn tubing. Solution heat-treatment is recommended after hot or cold working of HASTELLOY N alloy parts. For sheet and plate, this is accomplished by soaking at 2150°F (1177°C) [sections up to 1/4 inch thick] and then cooling rapidly in air, or at 2165°F (1185°C) [sections 1/4 inch and thicker] followed by waterquenching. It has good oxidation resistance to hot fluoride salts in the temperature range of 1300 to 1600°F (704 to 871°C).

About Hastelloy N

Hastelloy N alloy has good oxidation resistance in air. It shows promise for continuous operations at temperatures up to 1800°F (982°C). Intermittent use at temperatures up to 1900°F (1038°C) may also be possible. No discernible oxidation could be measured for the alloy at temperatures up to 1200°F (649°C).

Metallographic examinations have shown that the elements in alloy N remain in solid solution in the 1100 to 1600°F (593 to 871°C) range. Tensile tests have indicated no tendency toward embrittlement for prolonged periods at 1500°F (816°C). Alloy N has good weldability and can be readily forged. The hot working range is between 1600 and 2150°F (871 to 1177°C). It has been successfully extruded and further processed into high-quality seamless or manufactured as welded and drawn tubing. Solution heat-treatment is recommended after hot or cold working of HASTELLOY N alloy parts. For sheet and plate, this is accomplished by soaking at 2150°F (1177°C) [sections up to 1/4 inch thick] and then cooling rapidly in air, or at 2165°F (1185°C) [sections 1/4 inch and thicker] followed by waterquenching. It has good oxidation resistance to hot fluoride salts in the temperature range of 1300 to 1600°F (704 to 871°C).

Hastelloy Alloy C-276 is a solid solution strengthened nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy with a small amount of tungsten. Alloy C-276 exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of harsh environments and media. Like many other nickel alloys, it is ductile, easily formed and welded. This alloy is used in most industrial settings where aggressive chemical environments are present and other alloys have failed. Hastelloy C-276 is frequently used in many industries, including chemical and petrochemical processing, oil and gas, power generation, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper production and waste water treatment. About Hastelloy B-3

Hastelloy B-3 alloy (UNS N10675) exhibits extremely high resistance to pure hydrochloric (HCL), hydrobromic, and sulfuric acids (H2So4). Furthermore, it has greatly improved structural stability compared with previous B-type alloys, leading to fewer concerns during welding, fabrication, and service.

Like other nickel alloys (in the mill annealed condition), it is ductile, can be formed and welded, and resists stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing solutions. Also, it is able to withstand fluoride-bearing media and concentrated sulfuric acid, both of which result in damage to zirconium alloys.

Hastelloy B-3 alloy is available in the form of plates, Shims, Strips and Foils, strips, billets, bars, wires, pipes, tubes, and coated electrodes. It is used in numerous chemical process industry (CPI) applications, especially in the construction of reaction vessels for pure, reducing acid service.

About Hastelloy G-30

HASTELLOY G-30 alloy (UNS N06030) is a nickel-chromium-iron material highly resistant to “wet process” phosphoric acid (P2O5). P2O5 is one of the most important industrial chemicals, being the primary source of phosphorus for agrichemical fertilizers. G-30 alloy is also moderately resistant to chloride-induced localized attack, which can be a problem beneath deposits in the evaporators used to concentrate P2O5. Furthermore, G-30 alloy is less susceptible to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking than the stainless steels.

As a result of its high chromium content, G-30 alloy is also very resistant to other oxidizing acids, such as nitric, and mixtures containing nitric acid. It possesses moderate resistance to reducing acids, such as hydrochloric and sulfuric, as a result of its appreciable molybdenum and copper contents.

HASTELLOY G-30 alloy is available in the form of plates, sheets, strips, billets, bars, Rods, pipes, tubes, and covered electrodes. Applications include P2O5 evaporator tubes and nitric acid-based, metal pickling hardware.
